“The swab station provides affordable, accurate, and fast RT-PCR testing for COVID-19 and makes the swab testing accessible to the community. It also increases the testing capacity of the country one city at a time,” ani Department of Science and Technology Sec. Fortunato de la Pena sa isang report.

Pasok ang halaga sa itinakdang presyo ng Department of Health at Department of Trade and Industry.

“The station will just be a collection site for swab samples, then be transported to MTek’s Molecular Laboratory in Marikina for processing. All results will be given in 24-48 hours via email,” ani Dela Pena.

“Apart from distributing the diagnostic kit to other parts of the country, this technology is also readily available to the company, hence, MTEK decided to open its first molecular laboratory in October 2020 which is based in Marikina.”
