Pinapurihan ngayon ng Civil Service Commission (CSC) ang mga nagtatrabaho sa gobyerno kasabay ng Labor day.
Sa statement na inilabas ni CSC chairperson Karlo Nograles ngayong Labor Day, sinabi nitong ang tibay ng ating bansa ay nakasalalay sa workforce ng mga government workers.
Ang tibay din umano ng civil service ay nakasalalay sa 1.7 million na civil servants.
Saludo rin umano si Nograles sa mga government workers at binigyang diin nito ang kahalagahan ng pag-protekta sa kanilang mga interest.
“Today, as we honor Filipino workers whose labors help lay the very foundation upon which our nation’s progress rests, let us not forget our public officials and employees who –day in and day out, in times of peace or in periods of crisis– keep the government machinery running in order to deliver the public’s much-needed programs and services,” ani Nograles.
Kasabay nito, hiniling naman ni Nograles na kailang patuloy pa rin daw ang pagsisikap ng mga goverment workers para mapanatili ang kanilang dignidad sa kanilang workplace.
“We should be doing more proactive programs to educate, equip, and empower civil servants and not just rely on punitive actions. When we talk about public service, I want people to think that it is a rewarding calling that goes beyond sacrificing the welfare of your family or your mental and physical health,” dagdag nito.
