The City Government of Caloocan is now offering free mental health screening and consultation for its constituents through the Caloocan City Calm Space, a mental wellness lounge that serves as a sanctuary for those who need to relax, clear their mind, share their thoughts, and seek help from the mental health professionals.
Aside from the aforementioned services, Caloocan City Calm Space is also offering free yoga, tai-chi exercise, and sound healing sessions.
Mayor Along Malapitan is encouraging everyone to maximize the free services of Caloocan City Calm Space, which aims to adhere to the varying needs of the citizens, including modern-day challenges affecting mental health and well-being.
“In observance of the Mental Health Awareness Month, we are inviting everyone to join the free activities and avail the free services from our newly opened facility. Our Calm Space has specialists that are willing to listen and provide guidance, especially to those who are under emotional and psychological distress,” the mayor said.
The local chief executive also believes that these services are a timely response to the relevant issues that are currently happening in different parts of the Philippines affecting different sectors, particularly the youth.
