The greatest athlete of all time in women’s MMA announced his shocking retirement in the UFC after successfully defending his bantamweight world title against Irene Aldana at UFC 289.

“Yeah, I’m gone. I’m good. I did everything and all is taken care of in my life,” said Nunes reaffirming his announcement right after her win.

“Thank you, UFC. They took care of me, and they’ll always take care of me, so I’m always going to be around. If I don’t do anything with them, I’ll still go up and down just to be around them because I love this sport so much, and I did everything to be the best at it. And I proved it tonight. I retired with my two belts.”

Nunes walked out as a two-division world champion in the bantamweight and featherweight with a UFC record of 16 wins and only two losses.
