Walang nakikitang iregularidad si Defense Secretary Delfin Lorenzana sa pinirmahang memorandum of agreement (MOA) sa pagitan ng Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) at China-backed telco (telephone company) na Dito Telecommunity Corp.
Sa panayam kay Lorenzana, kaniyang sinabi na wala namang kaduda-duda sa nasabing kasunduan at kapareho lamang ito sa pinasok na memorandum of agreement ng AFP sa Smart at Globe.
“I most probably will sign it,” wika ni Lorenzana.
Pero ayon sa kalihim ay hindi pa niya napipirmahan ang dokumento ngunit hindi malayong aprubahan niya ito.
“A not yet because when we defended our budget in the senate they asked us, they requested us to submit the contract for the third Telco and the documents for the other two,” dagdag nito.
Ang state-owned China Telecom ay nagmamay-ari 40 percent ng consortium ng Davao-based businessman na si Dennis Uy.
Marami ang umalma matapos pumirma ng MOA ang AFP sa Dito Telco dahil sa umano’y posibilidad na pang-eespiya.
Sa ngayon, hinihintay na lamang ni Lorenzana ang komento mula sa mga senador na tumingin sa kontrata.
