Sa hangarin na makakuha ng social integration benefits mula sa gobyerno, nahikayat na sumuko sa militar ang 11 miyembro ng Abu Sayyaf Group (ASG) sa probinsiya ng Sulu.
Ang mga sumukong miyembro ng teroristang grupo ay mga tauhan ni ASG leader Mundi Sawadjaan at Radulan Sahiron.
Sumuko ang mga ito kay 1101st Brigade Commander, Col. Antonio Bautista Jr., nitong Biyernes, October 16.
Ayon kay Joint Task Force Sulu Spokesperson Lt. Col. Ronaldo Mateo, ang mga returnee ay kinilala lamang sa kanilang mga alyas dahil sa aspetong pangseguridad.
Ito ay ang mga sumusundo: alyas Alji, 24-anyos; Gaspar, 45; Amz, 45; Ardin, 32; Bebs, 25; Madz, 48; Uyong, 34; Bahad, 52; Nayin, 35; Allon, 45; at Asir, 42.
Ang mga tauhan ng 41st Infantry Battalion (IB), 100th IB, at 11th MIB sa ilalim ng Municipal Task Force on Ending Local Armed Conflict ng Patikul, Maimbung, Indanan, Talipao, at Pata, Sulu, ang nagproseso sa 11 ASG members na boluntaryong sumuko sa militar.
Isinuko nila ang kanilang pitong assorted high powered firearms gaya ng M16 armalite at M1 garand rifles.
Ayon kay Joint Task Force (JTF)-Sulu Commander, M/Gen. William Gonzales, sasailalim sa Social Integration Program ang 11 sumukong ASG members na una nang dumaan sa physical and medical examination sa Camp Bautista Station Hospital at susunod sa profiling process.
Sa datos ng JTF-Sulu, nasa 344 ASG members na ang sumuko sa Armes Forces of the Philippine, Philippine National Police, at local government unit sa Sulu, kung saan 217 dito ang naka-avail na ng livelihood assistance habang 127 ang nasa proseso na para i-enroll sa programa ng Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao.
“The process will still be the same; I will submit the names of these 11 returnees to WESTMINCOM, AFP for them to avail the livelihood program extended by MSSD after finishing their skills training. Under the guidance of our WESTMINCOM Commander, Lt Gen Corleto S Vinluan Jr, the JTF Sulu will continuously implement the Social Integration Program for Sulu ASG returnees in close coordination with Governor Abdusakur M Tan and the rest of the Municipal Mayors of Sulu,” pahayag ni M/Gen. Gonzales.
