Arestado ng mga tauhan ng PNP Anti-Kidnapping Group (AKG) Visayas Field Unit ang itinuturing na No. 7 most wanted person municipal level ng Dueñas, Iloilo City.
Isinagawa ang operasyon kaninang alas-10:00 ng umaga, December 10, 2020 sa Bacoor City, Cavite ng mga tauhan ng PNP AKG Iloilo- Bacolod Satellite Office sa pakikipag-ugnayan ng Dueñas Municipal Police Station at Cavite Police Provincial Office.
Isinagawa ang operasyon ng mga tauhan ng PNP AKG Visayas sa harap ng isang mall sa Bacoor City bilang bahagi ng kanilang One Time Big Time Operation.
Kinilala ni PNP AKG director B/Gen. Jonnel Estomo ang suspek na si Jovel Barrios na wanted sa krimen dahil sa panggagahasa o rape sa kaniyang biological daughter na si Jeysebel Barrios, 13.
Nangyari ang panghahalay ng suspek sa kaniyang sariling anak noong November 20, 2019.
Ang warrant of arrest laban sa suspek ay inilabas ni Judge Domingo Casiple Jr, acting judge ng RTC Branch 63, ng 6th Judicial Region, PD Montfort North, Dumangas, Iloilo City at walang piyansa na inirekomendang ang korte.
Kaagad na dinala sa AKG headquarters sa Kampo Crame ang suspek para isailalim sa booking procedures at tactical interrogation.
“This is another PNP AKG effort to eliminate and apprehend all on the loose criminals, stemmed on the intelligence-driven police operations that had been hot on the trail against the suspect . The latter was being monitored from his transfer from one place to another up to his present location. The PNP AKG proved once again that the long arms of the law still exist, not to mention the group’s vast experience in dealing with criminality that made things possible. Crime does not pay because of the majesty of the law,” pahayag pa ni B/Gen. Estomo.
