Nagpaliwanag ang Office of the Ombudsman matapos ipagpaliban ang paglalabas ng statements of assets, liabilities and net worth (SALN) nina Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte at Vice Pres. Leni Robredo noong 2018.
Ayon sa ilang opisyal ng tanggapan, kasalukuyang inaamiyendahan ng opisina ni Ombudsman Samuel Martires ang polisiya nito sa access ng publiko sa SALN ng mga government officials.
Kaya sa ngayon ay nananatiling pending ang requests para sa naturang dokumento ng mga opisyal.
Sinabi ng Central Records Division sa isang panayam na kailangan munang aprubahan ni Martires ang mga requests.
Hindi tulad sa dating panuntunan na ikalawang linggo pa lang ng Mayo ay naire-release na ito sa pamamagitan ng ng government ID at fill out form na isusumite bilang requirement ng nag-request.
“Pending the revision of guidelines on public access of Statements of Assets, Liabilities and Net Worth (SALNs) and Disclosure of Business Interests and Financial Connections, all requests for copies of SALNs before the central/area/sectoral offices shall be immediately forwarded to the Ombudsman for his approval,†ayon sa Office Circular ni Martires.
Bukod sa SALN nina Duterte at Robredo, pending din ang release sa naturang dokumento nina Commission on Elections chair Sheriff Abas, Commission on Audit chair Michael Aguinaldo, Commission on Human Rights chair Chito Gascon at Civil Service Commission chair Alicia dela Rosa-Bala.
