Binigyang-diin ni Department of Tourism Secretary Cristina Frasco ang mas malaking kontribusyon ng mamamayang Pilipino bilang pinakamahusay na asset sa industriya ng turismo sa bansa.
Ginawa ng Frasco ang pahayag kasabay ng matagumpay na Suroy-suroy Sugbo escapade sa pangunguna ni Cebu Gov. Gwen Garcia.
Sinabi pa ng kalihim na napanatili umano ng Pilipinas ang pagiging “top of mind” destination sa kabila ng mga hamong dumating.
Kaya naman, dapat pang ipagmalaki ang mga tourists sites dito dahil nagsilbi pa itong inspirasyon hindi lang ang pagiging kilala sa bansa kundi sa buong mundo.
Pinuri din nito at nagpasalamat sa Cebu bilang may pinakamalaking kontribusyon sa tourism arrival.
Ang Suroy Suroy Sugbo ng Cebu pa umano ang pinakamahusay na representasyon kung bakit may dahilan para umasa sa kaunlaran ng turismo sa Pilipinas.
Maliban sa mga dalampasigan, mga lugar at lahat ng iba pang aktibidad na iniaalok, sinabi ni Frasco na ang pinakamagandang asset ng Pilipinas ay ang sambayanang Pilipino.
“It is precisely because of this countrywide approach to tourism development that we have seen the initial gains of the administration. In that, we have exceeded our tourism goals for 2022 by almost a million with 1.7 million having been set for 2022 and as achieving international arrival of over 2.6 million visitors,’ saad ni Frasco.
Dagdag pa nito, “Cebu is the biggest contributor to that…We continue to be a top of mind destination all over the world. But beyond our beaches, beyond our dive sites, beyond our canyoneering activites and all other activities we have to offer, the best asset of the Philippines is really no other than the Filipino people.”
