Muling kinalampah ng consumer advocacy group na Koalisyon Bantay Kuryente (KBK) ang More Electric and Power Corporation (MORE Power) dahil umano sa kanilang pag-organisa ng isa pang grupo na mayroong parehong pangalan sa kanilang grupo para linlangin ang publiko at kontrahin ang mga consumers.
Sa virtual press conference, ibinunyag ni KBK coordinator Allen Aquino ang pekeng KBK ng More Power.
Nitong mga nakaraan daw ay ang naturang grupo ang responsable sa pagpapakalat ng mga misleading public statements sa pamamagitan ng kanilang presidenteng si Halley Alcarde para i-discredit the advocacy group.
“Ang fake KBK ng MORE POWER, yung intention talaga is to silence us, para mawawala yung reklamo koy MORE, so yun lang talaga ang pure intention nila. Hindi nila pwede ipatahimik ang consumers ng Iloilo, nakaumpisa tayo noon pa, hanggang ngayon, hanggang sa future,” ani Aquino.
Sinabi ni Aquino na binuo ng More Power ang pekeng KBK group saka inirehistro sa Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) bilang tugon sa mga kritisismo ng totoong KBK na kumokontra sa More Power partikular sa kanilang overbilling for systems loss charges, ang mga nararanasang power outages at ang kawalan ng public consultation noong nabigyan ng legislative franchise ang More Power.
“To recall, the true KBK alleged that More Power needs to silence consumers to cover up the excessive systems loss charges that breached the Energy Regulatory Commission-mandated cap of 6.25%, resulting in an estimated P20.9 million in fraudulent charges to consumers. Ang nangyayari dito hindi toto yung mga sinasabi nila (MORE Power’s fake KBK), particularly yung sa operations ni More, hindi lumalabas ang totoong nangyari,” dagdag ni Aquino.
Dahil dito, sinabi ng totoong KBK leadership na maghahain ang mga ito ng reklamo sa SEC para linisin ang kanilang pangalan at protektahan ang consumer interests at welfare.
“Kinakailangan i-question-in dahil hindi fang siya pangalan. Kinakailongan i-reclaim namin ng kami ang totoong KBK atsaka i-reclaim namin na kami ong totoong consumer watchdog. There are currently two social media pages on Facebook that use the name of KBK, says Aquino, but the dates of founding reveal that the supposed imposter had started its own page much later than the original KBK. Moreover, Aquino noted that the timing of the registration of More Powers fake KBK raises suspicions, as it happened after a series of other publicized complaints released by the true KBK. Both the SEC registration and Facebook page creation of MORE Power’s fake KBK happened on August 28, months after Aquino’s group began clamoring about MORE Power failure to deliver service,” wika pa ni Aquino.
Giit ni Aquino ilang taon na umanong pumupunta ang KBK sa mga barangay para ipaglaban ang kapanakan ng mga consumers.
“Pumupunta kami sa bawat barangay at kinakousap namin ang mga tao. Pinapakinggan naming ang kanilang mga complaints at pino-formalize ito. Ang ginagawa long ng More Power fake KBK ay propaganda. Hindi nila sinasabi ang totoo. The true KBK was formed based on the Bill of Rights and the Magna Carta for Electricity Consumers and its leadership is well known within the llonggo community. Both provide the right for consumers, the community, workers, and others to form organization with the intention of protecting their own interest and welfare. Malaki po ang pagkakaiba ng KBK na itinayo nomin at ang pekeng KBK ng More Power. Ang amin pong KBK ay matagal ng naglilingkod para protektahan ang interes ng mga consumer so lolo. Ang bagong totog ng KBK ng More Power oy binuo upang protektahan ang interes ng More Power. Ang intensiyon namin ang prinsipyo namin, ang hangarin namin ay tumulong at protekahan ang interes ng mga consumer,” pagtatapos ni Aquino.
