Inireklamo ni Bayan Muna party-list Rep. Carlos Isagani Zarate sa Office of the Ombudsman si Southern Luzon Command chief Maj. Gen. Antonio Parlade, Jr. dahil sa umano’y red-tagging at political partisan activity nito.
Hiniling ni Zarate sa Office of the Ombudsman na suspendihin si Parlade habang iniimbestigahan at pinakakasuhan sa paglabag sa Section 3(e) ng Anti-Graft and Corrupt Practices Act at Section 55 (Political Activity), Chapter 7, Subtitle A, Title 1 ng Administrative Code of 1987.
Umapela rin siya sa Ombudsman na ipag-utos ang dismissal ni Parlade sa oras na makitaan nila ito ng ebidensya ng grave misconduct.
Tinukoy ni Zarate ang mga news reports ng pronouncements ni Parlade noong 2019 election period kung saan makikita kung paano siya ni-red-tag ng military general.
“By Respondent’s (Parlade) public pronouncements, he has shown to have acted with manifest partiality, evident bad faith and inexcusable negligence. By his public pronouncements, he definitely caused my person and Bayan Muna undue injury during the campaign and election period,” ani Zarate.
Pinuna rin nito ang pagtawag sa Makabayan Party-Lists bilang mga “communist fronts,” “rebelde,” at “terorista.”
“By labelling me and the rest of the Makabayan Party-Lists as ‘communist fronts’ and vilifying us as ‘rebels’ and ‘terrorists,’ Respondent Parlade endangers and threatens the lives and safety our our officials, members, campaign personnel, and the sectors we represent,” dagdag pa nito.
