Pinayuhan ng National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) ang public telecommunications entities at internet service providers na maghanda sa posibleng maranasang surge ng internet traffic ngayong Christmas season.
Sa isang memorandum na inilabas ngayong araw ng Linggo, sinabi ni NTC Commissioner Gamaliel Cordoba na inaasahang titindi ang internet traffic ngayong holidays.
Makakadagdag din dito ang paghimok kamakailan aniya ng Department of Health (DOH) sa publiko na gawing virtual na lamang ang mga Christmas parties dahil sa banta ng Omicron variant ng COVID-19.
“During the period from 17 December 2021 to 07 January 2022, please observe a heightened level of emergency preparedness to ensure minimal disruption and downtime strictly complying with the prescribed service performance standards at all times,” ani Cordoba sa mga telco entities at internet service providers.
