President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on Sunday, July 26, made final preparations for his fifth State of the Nation Address (SONA), which he is set to deliver before a joint session of Congress on Monday, July 27.
The President released a 23-second video clip on Sunday evening showing him rehearsing his upcoming address. The Presidential Communications Office (PCO) also shared a series of photos highlighting Marcos’ preparations for the annual presidential report.
“President Marcos is doing final preparations for his fifth State of the Nation Address, which he will deliver tomorrow, July 27, before a joint session of Congress at the Batasang Pambansa Complex in Quezon City,” the Malacañang said.
During an ambush interview, Marcos said his speech would focus on the accomplishments of his administration since his previous SONA.
Asked whether he would discuss the issue of corruption during his address, the President gave a brief response, saying the public should “watch out for the next chapter.”
Earlier, Palace Press Officer and Communications Undersecretary Claire Castro described Marcos’ fifth SONA as “simple but dignified,” emphasizing the administration’s intent to deliver a meaningful report to the Filipino people.
