Ipinasususpinde ng Office of the Ombudsman si dating Commission on Higher Education (CHED) executive director Julito Vitriolo matapos itong makitaan ng probable cause para kasuhan ng simple misconduct.
Nag-ugat ito sa reklamong inihain noon ni CHED chairperson Patricia Licuanan kung saan nilabag umano ni Vitriolo ang resolusyon na nilabas ng Commission En Banc.
Batay sa complaint ni Licuanan, nakasaad na naglabas ng memorandum ang kapwa dating CHED official na nag-rekomenda sa kanilang Region Office na mag-issue ng provisional permit sa isang private school.
Ito ay sa kabila ng pag-disapproved ng en banc sa aplikasyon ng naturang eskwelahan.
Iginiit ng Ombudsman na nilabag ni Vitriolo ang mga polisiya at guidelines ng CHED dahil sa naturang akusasyon.
“In the event that the penalty can no longer be enforced against respondent due to separation from services, the penalty of fine equivalent to his latest salary for three months shall be imposed, payable to the Office of the Ombudsman, and may be deductible from respondent’s retirement benefits, accrued leave credits or any receivable from the office,” ani Ombudsman Samuel Martires.
