The Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) captured international recognition when its 2026 Interactive Digital Tax Calendar won the Philippines Digital Initiative of the Year – Finance Award at the GovMedia Conference & Awards held on July 9 in Singapore.

The award honored the BIR’s innovation in transforming its traditional printed tax calendar into an interactive online platform that allows taxpayers to easily track deadlines, filing requirements, and compliance information.

Commissioner Charlito Martin R. Mendoza, joined by senior officials, personally received the award and dedicated it to BIR employees who continue to develop digital services and assist taxpayers nationwide.

In his speech, Mendoza emphasized that the project was designed to make tax compliance simpler, faster, and more transparent for the public.

He also highlighted the BIR’s commitment to pursue practical digital innovations alongside long-term transformation programs to improve taxpayer experience.

Mendoza affirmed that the Bureau’s efforts support President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s vision of a modern, responsive government that delivers citizen-centric services.
