The Bureau of Immigration (BI) is expected to initiate deportation proceedings after they nabbed Friday 342 Chinese nationals who illegally work in Quezon City.

BI conducted the massive raid in an online gaming company last night.

According to BI Commissioner Jaime Morente, the Chinese workers were working at the 3rd to 4th floor of Global Trade Center Building in Bago Bantay, Quezon City where they failed to provide proper documents.

The suspects were working in a licensed Philippine Offshore Gaming Operator (POGO) which has all the required permits to operate issued by Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR).

They also believed that the company is being used for illegal businesses such as cyber activities and investment scams.

“We sought the assistance of PAGCOR in confirming their permit, and we found out that the company was duly licensed, but was not yet allowed to operate,” said Manahan.

Recovered at the sites were thousands of mobile phones which are used for online and phone scams.

The agency abruptly contacted the Chinese government after it admitted that the company is also linked to swindling activities to other Chinese nationals.

The suspects’ passports were already canceled by their own government and were declared as undocumented aliens.
