The Bureau of Immigration Intelligence Division (BI-ID) arrested seven undocumented Chinese nationals in Masinloc, Zambales over dredging activities.
BI Intelligence Officer Ricardo Cabochan at John Mendez, who led the arresting team, said that they arrested the Chinese workers identified as Shinu Chen and Shao Shao Chen were nabbed inside “Sand Carrier Horner 1,” and “Dredger Warrior 6” which carried Xu Xiansheng, Jiang Xin, Zhao Yihong, Gong Yaan
In a report submitted to BI Commissioner Jaime Morente, these Chinese workers were arrested yesterday by BI Intelligence agents from Manila and Region 3 with the help of PNP 305th Maneuver Company Regional Mobile Force Battalion (RMFB) and Regional Special Operations Group (RSOG) Region 3.
Aside from violating the immigration laws, they also violated the Philippine Mining Act of 1995 and Executive Order 292.
“The subject arrested foreigners violated not only our immigration laws but also the Philippine Mining Act of 1995 and Executive Order 292,” he said.
“They are seriously threatening national security and interest by stealing our minerals and resources,” the BI chief added.
They were found to be overstaying in the country and working without proper documents.
