Nakatakdang ipa-deport ng Bureau of Immigration (BI) ang dalawang puganteng Amerikano na wanted sa Estado Unidos dahil sa kasong felony at battery by strangulation.
Ayon kay BI Commissioner Jaime Morente, naaresto ang mga pugante sa Baguio City at sa Mandaluyong sa pamamagitan ng Fugitive Search Unit (FSU) ng BI.
Naaresto noong Marso 1 sa isang malaking mall sa Baguio City si Apollo Cioffi, 46 habang si William Schweizer, 32 ay naaresto naman sa Tivoli Garden Residences sa Mandaluyong City.
Sa ilalim ng Florida statutes, ang felony battery at domestic battery by strangulation ay nangyayari kapag sinadyang hawakan ng isang suspek ang biktima na labag sa kanyang kalooban na posibleng magdulot ng pananakit, permanent disability o permanent disfigurement.
“Like all the other foreign fugitives whom we have arrested in the past, we will deport these two undesirable aliens and ban them from re-entering the Philippines. They have no place in our country, as their presence here poses a risk to our people,†wika ni Morente.
