Nag-iwan ng dalawang miyembro ng New People’s Army (NPA) na patay ang engkuwentro laban sa mga sundalo kahapon, April 17, sa may bahagi ng Purok Yuring, Sitio Dash 7, Barangay Bulwangan, Hinoba-an, Negros Occidental.
Ayon kay 15th Infantry Battalion Commanding Officer Lt. Col Erwin Cariño, nagsasagawa ng “CSP sustainment” operations sa Hinoba-an Municipality ang kaniyang mga sundalo nang makasagupa nito ang mga miyembro ng Platoon 3, Southwest Front ng KR-NCBS.
Tumagal ng 40 minuto ang bakbakan na ikinasawi ng dalawang communist terrorists.
Ayon kay Cariño, walang naiulat na casualties sa hanay ng mga sundalo.
Narekober ang dalawang caliber 45 pistols na may magazines at ammunition, hand grenade, extortion letters, mahahalagang dokumento, mga cellphone, at mga personal belongings.
Ang dalawang napatay na NPA na sina alyas Micheal/ Nonoy, at alyas Ken-ken, ay dinala sa Porras Funeral Homes sa Purok IV, Barangay 1, Hinoba-an, Negros Occidental.
Samantala, pinasalamatan ni ni Lt. Col. Cariño ang mga residente ng Sitio Yuring, Barangay Bulwangan, sa pagbibigay ng impoirmasyon hinggil sa presensiya ng teroristang grupo sa kanilang lugar.
“The encounter is a clear result of the collaborative efforts made by the government and the community. It manifested the success and gains of our Community Support Programs and expressed the desire of the community to be free from CTG terroristic infiltration and influence in their locality. They truly understood and embraced the realms of true progress and development casting away the menace brought by the NPA terrorist,” pahayag Cariño.
Nagpaabot din ng pakikiramay ang militar sa mga kamag-anak ng dalawang nasawing NPA at tiniyak na magbibigay ng tulong.
Pinuri naman ni 302nd Brigade Commander, Col. Leonardo Peña, ang mga tropa ng 15th Infantry Battalion sa kanilang sakripisyo at dedikasyon sa trabaho para mapanatili ang kapayapaan at kaayusan sa komunidad.
Naniniwala si Pena na sa pamamagitan ng “whole of nation approach” ay hindi malayong makamit ang tagumpay para labanan ang problema sa insurgency.
“Our government is always open to help and assist the remaining Communist NPA Terrorists to a peaceful surrender. It is better for them to embrace peace as they are no longer welcome in the community. The people of Negros have been longing for peace and progress for a better and brighter future of their children,” wika ni Col Peña.
