Tiniyak ni House Speaker Martin Romualdez ang proteksiyon ng karapatan ni Gov. Manuel Mamba, matapos itong boluntaryong sumuko sa House of Representatives.
Ayon kay Speaker Romualdez ang boluntaryong pagsuko ni Mamba ay isang kapuri -puri para protektahan ang integridad ng institusyon.
“Governor Mamba’s choice to voluntarily surrender is a commendable stride in safeguarding the integrity of our democratic institutions. It signifies his readiness to collaborate with the House’s proceedings and underscores a steadfast commitment to the fundamental principles of accountability and transparency that form the cornerstone of our democracy,” pahayag ni Romualdez.
Ang Contempt Order laban kay Mamba ay dahil sa makailang beses na bigong pagdalo sa pagdinig ng House Committees on Public Accounts at Suffrage and Electoral Reforms hinggil sa umano’y iligal na paggasta ng provincial government nuong 2022 campaign period.
Bukod kay Mamba na contempt din si Rogelio Sending ang Provincial Information Officer ng Cagayan.
“The House of Representatives is fully committed to adhering to all established legal procedures and safeguards throughout this process, ensuring fairness and due process,” dagdag pa ni Speaker Romualdez.
Siniguro naman ni Speaker na gagawa ng mga hakbang upang masiguro na mapapangalagaan si Mamba habang nasa kusotodiya ito ng Kamara.
