Pansamantalang suspendido ang operasyon ng Office of the Vice Presiden (OVP) matapos mag-positibo sa coronavirus disease ang apat sa mga staff na natulong sa COVID-19 response ng tanggapan.

Ayon kay Atty. Barry Gutierrez, tagapagsalita ng OVP, isang staff ng tanggapan ang unang nag-positibo noong nakaraang linggo.
Dahil dito, agad isinailalim sa test ang mga concerned personnel ng tanggapan, kasama na si VP Leni. Matapos nito ay natukoy na positibo ang tatlong iba pang staff.
Negatibo naman sa test ang pangalawang pangulo.
“The office has already started contact tracing procedures to identify all those who have interacted with the four staffers that tested positive.”
“But as a consequence of this unfortunate development, office operations at the OVP will temporarily be suspended to make way for a full disinfection procedure.”
Sa kabila nito, nangako si Gutierrez na itutuloy pa rin ng tanggapan ang nasimula nitong pagaabot tulong sa mga nangangailangan ngayong pandemic.
“Now that a handful of staffers have actually tested positive for the virus, and while we will take every precaution to protect the rest of our staff, our commitment to continue our work to support our nation’s Covid-19 response efforts remains firm and undimmed.”
