Suportado ng kinatawan ng lone district ng San Jose Del Monte (SJDM) City sa Bulacan na si Rida Robes ang “no vaccine, no classes” order ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte para maagapan ang lalo pang pagkalat ng Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).
Maalalang sa kanyang public address noong Lunes ng gabi, May 25, sinabi ng pangulong hindi nito papayagan ang pagbubukas ng klase hanggat wala pang bakuna ang nadidiskubre para sa naturang virus.
“I will not allow the opening of classes na magdikit-dikit iyang mga bata na ‘yan. Bahala na hindi na makatapos unless I am sure that they are really safe. Para sa akin, bakuna muna,” anang pangulo.
Ayon kay Robes, ang covid pandemic ay seryosong sakit kaya hindi dapat madaliin ang pagbubukas ng klase.
Para sa kongresista, mas maiging hintayin munang may ma-develop na gamot para sa naturang sakit bago ang planong pagbubukas ng klase.
“The COVID-19 pandemic is very serious. We cannot force our own schedules on it. It is best to wait for a vaccine to be developed or for more definite medical interventions to be easily available. Otherwise, we would be risking the lives of all the students, as well as their teachers, school employees, and their respective family members,” wika ni Robes.
Matatandaang inanunsiyo ng
Department of Education (DepEd) noong Abril 30 na plano nilang opisyal na buksan ang schol year sa August 24.
Sinabi ni DepEd Sec. Leonor Briones na gagamitin sa mga paaralan ang online learning setup.
Nagdulot naman ito ng samu’t saring reaksiyon ng publiko.
Sa katunayan, ipinunto ng ibang indibidwal na magdudulot ito ng kawalan ng opurtunidad na makapasok sa eskuwela ng mga estudyante na hindi kayang makabili ng equipment at internet connection na kinakailangan para sa online learning.
“To be frank, a lot of people thought that the DepEd has been rather insensitive about the matter. They were adamant about opening in August even if we have not yet totally contained the virus. They had to wait for President Duterte to step in. I am very glad that he intervened. I’d rather sacrifice the school year rather than the lives of students and Filipinos in general. We can make up for time we lose in school, but we can’t bring back lost lives. Let’s all work together to come up with better solutions that won’t compromise anyone’s well-being,” dagdag ni Robes.
