MANILA, Philippines – One billion housing subsidy fund will be allotted for low-income Filipinos to provide affordable homes, says President Bong Bong Marcos Jr.

The President added that this project will prioritize those who cannot afford the monthly amortization for housing units.

“Perhaps, if we find a funding source, we will allot P1 billion to start with the distribution of subsidies for our future tenants,” said President Marcos Jr.

The groundbreaking ceremony of Pambansang Pabahay para sa Pilipino Housing Project took place at Batasan Hills, Quezon City, last January 31.

This housing subsidy will lessen the monthly amortization rate, for example here in Metro Manila from around P8,000 to P3,000, according to Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD) Secretary Jose Rizalino Acuzar.

Further, the administration plans to construct around 6 million homes for his whole term which would help almost 30 million Filipinos with their housing units.
