The Philippine Red Cross (PRC) provided medical assistance and welfare services to 12,775 individuals nationwide during its Undas Operations 2026, ensuring that Filipinos visiting cemeteries and traveling during the observance had access to immediate assistance and emergency care.
Based on its final ground report, the PRC recorded 12,775 individuals assisted across cemeteries, major thoroughfares, and transport terminals nationwide. Of these, 12,180 underwent vital signs monitoring, 548 received treatment for minor medical cases, and 32 were attended to for major medical emergencies. Another 15 patients were transported to nearby hospitals for further treatment.
To ensure assistance was readily available, the PRC mobilized 2,357 staff and volunteers across the country, supported by 432 first aid stations, 159 welfare desks, 159 Volunteers for Emergency Response and Vehicles (VERV), 80 ambulances, 80 scooters, 79 foot patrol units, 36 mobile units, eight command posts, and two medical units.
Philippine Red Cross Chairman and CEO Richard Gordon commended the dedication of staff and volunteers who spent the observance away from their families to serve the public.
Maraming staff at volunteers ang nagsakripisyo ng oras kasama ang sarili nilang pamilya upang magbantay sa mga sementeryo, kalsada, at terminal so we can live up to our mantra of being Always First, Always Ready, Always There,” Gordon said.
PRC Secretary General Dr. Gwendolyn Pang emphasized the importance of coordination, logistics, and technology in ensuring an effective nationwide operation.
The operation demonstrated the strength of the PRC’s core strategy of combining volunteerism, logistics, and information technology to deliver timely humanitarian assistance and emergency response wherever it is needed.
