Pinarangalan ang iba’t ibang ahensiya ng gobyerno dahil sa 99 percent electronic Freedom of Information (eFOI) performance rating ng mga ito.
Mismong si Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO) Sec. Martin Andanar ang nagprisinta ng eFOI awards kasabay nang pagpupugay sa pagsusumikap ng mga ahensiya ng gobyerno, non-government organizations at kanilang mga tauhan dahil sa pagsusulong ng freedom of information at paglaban sa misinformation o mga maling impormasyon.
Kabilang sa mga ahensiya na pinarangalan ay ang National Telecommunications Commission (NTC), Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA), Bureau of Customs (BoC), Department of Foreign Affairs, National Housing Authority (NHA), Malacañang Records Office (MRO), Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA), National Mapping and Resource Information Authority (NAMRIA), Housing and Land Use Bureau (HLURB), Department of Justice (DoJ) at ang Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE).
Ang mga nabanggit na ahensiya ay nakakuha ng 99 percent outstanding performance rate sa electronic freedom of information portal (eFOI).
“Proliferation of false news corrupts state-people relations, and delays if not obliterates development, while dissemination of accurate information empowers the people, connects them to the government through the rebuilding of trust, which, in turn, inspires progress,” ani Andanar.
Ang PCOO ay nagpalabas ng FOI Memorandum Circular 02 s. 2019 kung saan ipinunto ang tatlong major criteria ang timeliness, efficiency, at qualitysa pagbibigay ng marka sa bawat ahensiya na papabilang sa eFOI portal.
Taong 2017 nang simulan ang FOI Awards kasunod nang paglagda ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte sa E.O. No. 02 noong 2016.
Samantala, ngayong taon na ito ay ang kauna-unahan parangal na maging ang mga outstanding FOI officers ay binigyan din ng pagkilala dahil sa kanilang katangi-tanging kontribusyon sa FOI program’s progress and development.
