The Memphis Grizzlies cannot ignore what went viral and took action.
This was after the NBA decided to have an open investigation on Ja Morant’s Instagram live, where he saw showing off his gun while in a nightclub.
“The Memphis Grizzlies announced today that Ja Morant will be away from the team for at least the next two games,” the Grizzlies’ PR posted on social media.
The All-Star also broke his silence and issued an apology.
“I take full responsibility for my actions last night. I’m sorry to my family, teammates, coaches, fans, partners, the city of Memphis and the entire Grizzlies organization for letting you down. I’m going to take some time away to get help and work on learning better methods of dealing with stress and my overall well-being,” the 23-year old explosive guard said.
According to their schedule, the Memphis Grizzlies will face off against the Washington Wizards and the Utah Jazz in their next two games. Both teams are formidable competitors, and it will be interesting to see how the Grizzlies will perform without their star player, Ja Morant.
Before this, Morant had also been linked with assaulting a 17-year-old boy. Despite Morant’s absence, the Grizzlies have a strong roster, including players like Jaren Jackson Jr., Dillon Brooks, and Kyle Anderson, who have been stepping up their game this season. Fans can expect intense matchups and a thrilling display of basketball skills from both teams.
Ultimately, basketball is a team sport, and the Memphis Grizzlies must work together to secure a win against their opponents. The absence of Morant may present challenges, but it also allows the team to showcase its depth and resilience.
