Kai Sotto is given another shot for his and the Philippines’ NBA dream as he is set to play for the Orlando Magic in the upcoming 2023 NBA Summer League in Las Vegas.
The 7’3″ pure blooded Filipino is currently signed with the Hiroshima Dragonflies in the Japan B.League and will fly out to the United States to join the Magic where he will play Detroit, Indiana, New York, Portland, and one more NBA team.
Sotto went undrafted in the 2022 draft and then returned to the Adelaide 76ers in the NBL before moving to Japan.
He averaged 9.5 points, 6.4 rebounds, 1.4 assists. and 1.4 blocks in his 21-game appearance in the B.League.
Whatever the outcome of his Summer League, Sotto has no time to waste as he will join the Philippine national team, Gilas Pilipinas, to prepare for the upcoming FIBA World Cup.
