Nag-abiso ang Department of Energy (DOE) sa mga residenteng sakop ng Luzon grid hinggil sa inaasahang manipis na supply ng kuryente mula alas-12:00 ng tanghali hanggang alas-3:00 ng hapon ngayong araw, June 4.
Ayon sa DOE, ang “yellow alert” ngayong araw ay bunsod ng biglaan at pwersahang outages sa mga planta ng kuryente, gayundin ang restricted na supply ng natural gas sa Malampaya power plant.
Pinagpapaliwanag ni Energy Sec. Alfonso Cusi ang National Grid Corporation of the Philippines, pati na mga generation companies, at suppliers ng natural gas sa sitwasyon.
Sakali raw kasing magtuloy-tuloy ang forced outages ay posibleng umakyat sa red alert ang sitwasyon at makaranas ng rotational brownouts.
“The energy industry must work together to ensure sufficient and stable power supply at all times. We also ask our industry players to approach us for any assistance the Department could provide to fast track the necessary restoration activites,” ayon sa kalihim.
Nababahala ang Energy department sa sitwasyon ng mga planta ng kuryente at natural gas, lalo na’t inaasahan ang mas malaking demand sa enerhiya ngayon dahil sa general community quarantine ng Metro Manila.
“We assure the public that we will exhaust all possible measures to help prevent power interruptions from occuring during this challenging period,” ani Cusi.
