Commission on Elections (Comelec) Commissioner Rowena Guanzon revealed that Ladlad party-list was one of those that submitted its Petition for Registration and Manifestation of Intent to Participate in the May 2022 national and local election.

“Looking at the list of petitioners at Comelec, Ang Ladlad filed again,” said Guanzon.

“You can be sure there is no dismissal on the ground of immorality as the Comelec has previously done and reversed by the Supreme Court,” she added.

The party list applauded Guanzon’s declaration.

“Thank you. We are hoping and praying for a fair chance for our sector,” the group replied in its official Twitter account.

The party list was disqualified in the 2007 elections because it did not have enough members and national presence.

Comelec again disqualified the group in 2010 for “immorality” prior to being overthrown by the higher court.

Ladlad was disbarred before the 2016 elections due to its inability to secure at least two percent of the votes cast in two consecutive elections.
