The Bureau of Immigration (BI) officials nabbed a suspected Italian pedophile at Davao International Airport.
BI Commissioner Jamie Morente said that based on reports handed to him by BI Acting Intelligence Chief Fortunato Manahan Jr., the 57-years old suspect was identified as Lorenzo Marchesi, had been victimizing Filipino minors during his visit in the country.
According to Manahan, the suspect was about to leave the country but he was barred in the airport by intelligence agents through a mission order issued by Morente.
BI intelligence officer and Mindanao Intelligence Task Group (MITG) head Melody Gonzales said that Morente issued a mission order against Marchesi due to his immoral activities causing him to be declared as an undesirable alien.
It was learned that Marchesia was also a respondent of different criminal complaints filed in Davao City prosecutor’s office and Philippine National Police’s women and children’s protection desk.
Marchesi will be facing charges for violating the expanded anti-trafficking act, cybercrime law, and anti-child abuse act.
The suspect was using minors for sexual acts in exchange for money.
He is currently being held at the BI district office in Davao City while undergoing deportation proceedings and pending resolution of criminal complaints filed by the victims.
