Kinumpirma ng Department of Agriculture (DA) na magpapatupad ng cloud seeding operations ang ahensya para mapataas ang bumababang water level sa Angat Dam.
Ayon kay Agriculture Sec. William Dar, ito ang tugon ng kanyang tanggapan sa El Niño phenomenon ngayong taon.
“We are part in terms of managing this El Niño phenomenon. We are now ready in terms of the cloud seeding operations in the areas that are having shortfall in rainfall during this time of the year. And in due time, that will be done anytime soon,” ani Dar sa pagdalo nito sa Rural Development and Food Security Forum.
Kung maalala, nag-anunsyo ng water interruption ang concessionaires na Manila Water at Maynilad dahil sumasadsad muli ang antas ng tubig sa naturang dam.
Ito kasi ang pinagkukunan nila ng tubig pang-distribute sa malaking bahagi ng Metro Manila at kalapit na mga probinsya.
