According to the citation, Bombo Radyo Philippines has built a reputation for public service and genuine concern for the communities it serves, making it truly deserving of the recognition.

The Pro Patria Journalism Awards is one of the country’s most respected journalism recognition programs. The term “Pro Patria” is a Latin phrase meaning “For Country,” reflecting the award’s mission of honoring

journalists and media organizations that uphold truth, strengthen democracy, promote patriotism, and serve the nation through responsible journalism.

The awards recognize media practitioners and institutions that demonstrate fairness, fearlessness, truthfulness, moral responsibility, commitment to free expression, and dedication to keeping the public informed.

Presented by the Rotary Club of Manila—the first and oldest Rotary club in Asia, founded in 1919—the Pro Patria Journalism Awards have become one of the organization’s flagship recognition programs and are regarded among the most prestigious honors in Philippine journalism.

For BOMBO RADYO PHILIPPINES, the recognition reaffirms its commitment to responsible broadcasting and public service as it continues to serve millions of Filipinos through its nationwide network of 32 strong, dominant and fully digitalized AM and FM stations.

For more than six decades since its founding on July 6, 1966, Bombo Radyo Philippines has been a trusted companion of Filipinos in times of triumph, crisis, and change. It has covered elections, calamities, social issues, and everyday stories from the communities we serve nationwide. At the height of Martial Law, Bombo Radyo Philippines was the only provincial radio network that delivered news directly from Malacañang and Metro Manila to audiences in the provinces. Its mission has always been clear: to inform truthfully, report fearlessly, and serve responsibly.

At the heart of this journey is the visionary leadership of DR. ROGELIO M. FLORETE, the Chairman of the Florete Group of Companies, a diversified conglomerate with business interests in media—through Bombo Radyo Philippines—banking, bulk water supply, property development, pawnshop and jewelry, aquaculture and agriculture, among others.
