Mariing itinanggi ni Tingog Party-list Rep.Jude Acidre ang paratang ni Navotas Rep. Toby Tiangco na may panunuhol umano sa mga mambabatas para suportahan ang impeachment complaint laban kay Vice President Sara Duterte.
Ayon kay Acidre, “kategorikal na mali” ang akusasyon at hinamon si Tiangco na maglabas ng ebidensya.
Iginiit ni Acidre na walang naganap na suhulan, kasunduan, o kapalit na pabor mula sa liderato ng Kamara, kabilang si dating Speaker at Leyte Rep. Martin Romualdez.
“The claim of Rep. Toby Tiangco that Members of the House were bribed with funding allocations to support the impeachment complaint against Vice President Sara Duterte is categorically false. There was no bribe. There was no deal. There was no exchange. If there is evidence, present it. If there is none, stop misleading the public,” pahayag ni Acidre.
Binigyang-diin din niya na ang suporta sa impeachment ay nakabatay sa ebidensyang lumabas sa mga pagdinig, at hindi sa anumang insentibo.
Dagdag pa niya, ang ganitong mga paratang ay walang basehan at nakasisira sa integridad ng Kongreso.
Hinimok ni Acidre na idaan sa tamang proseso ang anumang reklamo at patunayan ito sa wastong forum, sa halip na magpakalat ng aniya’y walang basehang akusasyon.
“Let me be clear: at no point was there any instruction, inducement, or pressure from the leadership to secure signatures through funding or favors. To suggest otherwise is not only false—it is a serious allegation that demands proof, not propaganda,” dagdag pa ni Acidre.
Dagdag pa ni Acidre, “To allege that Members of Congress sold their judgment in exchange for funding is not just false—it is a reckless and baseless accusation that insults the integrity of the House and the intelligence of the Filipino people.”
Nagbabala si Acidre na ang pag-atake sa proseso ay maaaring maglihis ng atensyon mula sa mga isyung binibigyang pansin sa mga pagdinig ng impeachment.
“At a time when serious questions are being raised, when evidence is being examined, and when accountability is being demanded, some have chosen not to answer the issues, but to attack the process itself.To dismiss all of that as ‘manipulated’ simply because one disagrees with the outcome is not a defense—it is an evasion,” pahayag ni Acidre.
