Nasamsam ng National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) ang tinatayang nasa P63 milyong halaga ng ilegal na vape products sa magkakahiwalay na operasyon sa Marilao, Bulacan; Parañaque City; at Pasay City.
Ayon kay NBI Deputy Director Ferdinand Lavin, naaresto rin ang dalawang Pilipino at tatlong dayuhan kabilang ang isang Singaporean,Thai national, at isang Chinese national na sangkot umano sa ilegal na kalakalan.
Sa tulong ng Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) at Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), nakumpiska ng NBI-Cybercrime Division ang mahigit 85,000 na piraso ng salt-nicotine vape sa Bulacan, 25,000 piraso sa Parañaque, at 72,000 piraso sa isang bodega sa Pasay.
‘The NBI through the join efforts of the special task force division in coordination with Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR), and Department of Trade and Industries (DTI), conducted three separated operations on three separates occasions. The first operations was the service of mission order, second operation and the third operation composed of bypass,’ ani Atty. Van Homer Angluben, Executive Director, NBI Cybercrime Division.
Ayon kay NBI Director Jaime Santiago, tagumpay ang operasyon dahil sa kombinasyon ng cyber patrol, intelligence gathering, at koordinasyon sa iba’t ibang ahensya ng gobyerno.
‘This is keeping with the pronouncement of the President, we should all hit the street running, that we should all get our feet on the ground at magkaisa hindi puwedeng magkanya-kanya..,’ dagdag ni NBI Deputy Director Ferdinand Lavin.
