Aabot sa 33 government officials ang sinuspindi ng Office of the Ombudsman na nauugnay sa mga umano’y animalous procurement ng mga pandemic supplies noong taong 2020 at 2022.
Ayon kay Ombudsman Samuel Martires, kabilang sa mga sinuspinde ay ang dating procurement group director ng Department of Budget and Management – Procurement Service na si Overall Deputy Ombudsman Warren Rex Liong at si Procurement Service-Department of Budget and Management undersecretary Lloyd Christopher Lao .
Kung maaalala, taong 2021 inimbestigahan ng Senate Blue Ribbon Committee ang Php42 billion na COVID-19 funds mula sa Department of Health patungong Department of Budget and Management – Procurement Service.
Kinabibilangan ito ng Php8.6 billion na pondong ginamit ng Procurement Service para sa pagbili ng face masks, face shields, at personal protective equipment (PPEs) mula sa Pharmally Pharmaceuticals Corp., na nagkakahalaga lamang ng PHP625,000 na paid-up capital nang ipasok ito sa government transactions.
Dahil dito ay inirekomenda ng noo’y Senate Blue Ribbon Committee chair na si Senator Richard Gordon ang paghahain ng mga criminal charges laban sa ilang government officials at iba pa kabilang na ang ilang tauhan ng Pharmally na may kaugnayan sa nasabing maanomalyang procurement.
