Umarangkada na ang iba’t ibang aktibidad para sa RP-US Balikatan Exercise 2022 na itinuring na largest-ever joint military exercise.
Ilan sa mga high-tech na kagamitan ng Amerika nagpakitang gilas sa joint military training.
Agaw pansin naman sa aktibidad ngayong araw ang isinagawang amphibious exercise at ang friendship jump.
Ang first-ever amphibious insertion ng Patriot Minimum Engagement Package (MEP) ay isinagawa sa Aparri, Cagayan na pinangunahan ng air defenders mula sa Bravo Battery Battalion, 1st Air Defense Artillery Regiment ng US Army Pacific na nakabase sa Okinawa, Japan kasama ang mga pwersa ng Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP).
Ito din ang kauna-unahan na isinama ng Pilipinas at US sa Balikatan exercise ang nasabing Patriot missile system na malaking tulong sa panahon ng emergencies lalo na sa pagdepensa sa bansa mula sa aerial and ballistic missile threats.
Ang Balikatan exercise ngayong taon ay nakadisensyo para paigtingin pa ang force capability at palakasin ang kooperasyon sa maritime security, amphibious operations, live fire training, urban operations, aviation operations, counterterrorism at humanitarian assistance and disaster relief.
Hinimok naman ni AFP chief of staff General Andres Centino ang lahat ng mga participants na i-grab ang opportunities lalo at marami ang kanilang matututunan.
“I urge all the Filipino and American soldiers who are taking part in this year’s Balikatan Exercise to embody professionalism, excellence and camaraderie as we maximize the opportunities offered to us in this event. I am confident that both of our Armed Forces shall reap immense benefits from this exercise as we continue to pursue our shared goals of regional peace, security and stability,” pahayag pa ni Gen. Centino.
