Tiniyak ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte na walang kahit piso sa P4.1 trillion 2020 national budget ang mapupunta sa korupsyon at dapat pakikinabangan hanggang sa huling sentimo ng mga Filipino taxpayers.
Ginawa ni Pangulong Duterte ang pahayag sa kanyang talumpati sa isinagawang ceremonial signing ng 2020 General Appropriations Act.
Sinabi ni Pangulong Duterte, malaking bagay ang naipasang budget para matustusan ang mga proyektong kakailanganin sa mas magandang kinabukasan ng bansa.
Ayon kay Pangulong Duterte, nagpapasalamat siya sa Kongreso sa mabilis na pagpasa ng national budget para ngayong taon.
Ang bagong lagdang national bydget ay 12 percent na mas mataas sa P3.66 trillion na 2019 national budget o katumbas ng 19.5 percent sa projected gross domestic product (GDP) sa 2020.
Kabilang sa mga ahensyang may pinakamataas na alokasyon ang Department of Education (DepEd), P692.6 billion; Department of Public Works and Highways, P581.7 billion; Department of Interior and Local Government, P241.6 billion; Department of Social Welfare and Development, P200.5 billion; Department of National Defense; Drpartment of Health; Department of Transportation; Department of Agriculture; Judiciary, P41.2 billion at Department of Environment and Natural Resources.
“Together, let us ensure that every peso in the budget will never be used to support the selfish greed of the few, but spent exclusively for the benefit and service of Filipino taxpayers,” ani Pangulong Duterte.
