Suportado ni Sen. Bong Go ang desisyon ng Office of the Ombudsman na imbestigahan ang umano’y irregularidad sa pangangasiwa ng Department of Health (DOH) sa COVID-19 crisis.
Sinabi ni Sen. Go, trabaho ito ng Ombudsman at bahagi ito ng kanilang constitutional duty.
Ayon kay Sen. Go, karapatan ng sambayanang Pilipino na magkaroon ng patas at walang kinikilingang imbestigasyon para malinawan ang mga alegasyong anomalya at mabigyan din ng pagkakataon ang mga sangkot na opisyal na linisin ang kanilang pangalan.
Inihayag ni Go na bilang mambabatas at chair ng Senate Committee on Health, paulit-ulit nitong iginigiit na dapat “accounted for” hanggang sa huling sentimo ang pondong inilalaan sa paglaban sa COVID-19 pandemic.
“I welcome the decision of the Office of the Ombudsman to investigate DOH officials. That is their constitutional duty. Trabaho nila iyan. The Filipino people deserve a fair and impartial investigation in order to shed light on these alleged anomalies and also for concerned officials to have an opportunity to clear their name. Karapatan ng taumbayan na malaman ang katotohanan,” ani Sen. Go.
“As a legislator and as chair of the Senate Committee on Health, I have reiterated numerous times amid this global health crisis that funds made available to address the COVID-19 pandemic and the needs of our people at this crucial time must be accounted for—up to the last centavo.”
