The International Labor Organization (ILO) commended the commitment and dedication of the Marcos administration in promoting labor industry reforms while balancing the economy and recovering from the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.
International Labor Organization Director-General Gilbert Houngbo made this statement during his four-day official visit to the Philippines.
He is also the first International Labor Organization chief to visit in the past seven decades.
The official also met with President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and officials from the Labor and Migrant Workers departments, as well as various labor, union, and employer’s groups.
He discussed with the President the suggestions and outcomes of the high-level tripartite mission of the International Labor Organization, which visited the country in January with the aim of assisting labor union leaders.
