Ibinaba ng Senate Impeachment Court ang voting threshold para sa conviction o acquittal ng isang impeachable officer, matapos makakuha ng 13 boto pabor sa mosyon nitong Miyerkules, Setyembre 23.
Si Presiding Officer Chiz Escudero lamang ang tumutol sa mosyon ni Senator-Judge Erwin Tulfo. Samantala, ilang miyembro ng minority bloc ang nagpahayag ng pagtutol sa proseso at hindi nakilahok sa botohan.Kabilang dito si Senate Minority Leader Alan Peter Cayetano, Senador Pia Cayetano, Camille Villaar, Bong Go at Robin Padilla. Tanging si Senator Mark Villar lamang mula sa minorty ang lumahok sa botohan at sinuportahan ang mosyon na ibaba ang voting threshold sa conviction ni VP Sa Duterte.
Pinuri ni House Public Prosecutor Gerville Luistro ang Senate Impeachment Court matapos ibaba nito ang voting threshold para sa conviction sa impeachment Duterte.
“We would like to congratulate the impeachment court because they were so cautious in resolving the question of threshold,” ani Luistro.
