Nakatakdang isumite kay Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte sa bago sumapit ang Oktubre 20 ang pangalan ng mga contenders para sa pinakamataas na posisyon sa Philippine National Police, ayon kay Interior Sec. Eduardo Año.
“Ang usapan namin ay (We discussed that) I will submit the names before October 20. Before October 20 I will submit the names of the contenders,” saad ni Año.
“Sa batas kasi (According to the law), NAPOLCOM (National Police Commission) will have to submit and I’m the chairman of NAPOLCOM,” dagdag pa nito.
Ayon sa kalihim, nakadipende pa rin kay Pangulong Duterte kung pipili ito sa listahan o hindi.
Nauna nang pinangalanan ni PNP chief Oscar Albayalde ang tatlong senior police officials bilang posibleng kanyang successor.
