Hinimok na rin ng pamunuan ng Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) ang kanilang mga miyembro na magparehisto para sa Philippine ID (Identification) System.
Ayon kay AFP vice chief of staff Lt. Gen. Erickson Gloria, bukod sa magsisilbing lehitimong identification document, makakatulong din ang Philippine ID para matukoy ang mga terorista at kriminal na nagtatago sa likod ng mga “false identity.”
Sa pakikikipagtulungan ng Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA), nag-set up ang AFP ng registration center sa Lapu-Lapu Grandstand Sa Camp Aguinaldo para sa mga military personnel, civilian human resource at dependents.
Kaya nitong makapagtehistro ng 600 hanggang 750 tao kada araw.
Maaring magparehistro ang mga tauhan at dependents ng AFP, Department of National Defense (DND) at mga attached bureaus, mula ngayong araw hanggang Agosto 10, kung saan 15,000 ang target na mairehistro.
Nanguna na magparehistro para sa kanilang Philippine ID sina DND Secretary Delfin Lorenzana at Office of Civil Defense Administrator Undersecretary Ricardo Jalad.
