Ipinagmalaki ng mga doktor ni US President Donald Trump na maganda raw ang lagay ng pangulo matapos itong magpositibo sa coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) kamakailan.
Sa isang press briefing, sinabi ni White House physician Dr. Sean Conley na maliban sa wala raw lagnat si Trump, wala rin daw silang nakitang malubhang epekto mula sa coronavirus infection ng pangulo.
“The first week of Covid and in particular the days seven to 10 are the most critical in determining the likely course of this illness. At this time the team and I are extremely happy with the progress the President has made,” wika ni Conley.
“Thursday he had a mild cough and some nasal congestion, fatigue, all of which are resolving and improving.”
Inaasahang mananatili pa ng ilang araw si Trump sa Walter Reed National Military Medical Center malapit sa Washington DC hanggang sa susunod pang mga araw.
Inihayag pa ni Conley na “cautiously optimistic” ito sa kondisyon ng presidente, ngunit hindi pa ito makapagbigay ng timetable kung kailan ito makakalabas ng ospital.
Ayon naman sa isa pang doktor na si Sean Dooley, hindi rin daw hirap sa paghinga si Trump at nasa normal na kondisyon din umano ang vital organs nito.
“We are monitoring him very closely for any evidence of complications from either the coronavirus illness or the therapies that we are prescribing to make him better,” ani Dooley. “He is in exceptionally good spirits.”
Una nang ginamot si Trump gamit ang isang experimental drug cocktail injection at ang antiviral medication na remdesivir.
