Singapore’s first female president Halimah Yacob has arrived in Manila on Sunday for her 5-day state visit.
Yacob is set to have a bilateral meeting with President Rodrigo Duterte on Monday at the MalacaƱang Palace.
Both presidents were expected to discuss the economy, cultural and political issues of Philippines and Singapore.
Yacob’s state visit was upon the invitation of President Rodrigo Duterte and will be the highlight of the celebration of 50 years of diplomatic relations between both countries.
Aside from being the first female president of Singapore,
Halimah will later be hosted by the President’s daughter, Mayor Sara Duterte, in Davao City, where she will also visit the Philippine Eagle Center and hold a dialogue with Mindanao youth.
