Hiniling ng panel of prosecutors sa Senate Impeachment Court na ipatawag sina Office of the Vice President chief of staff Zuleika Lopez at National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) Director Melvin Matibag na ipresenta bilang testugo sa impeachment trial ni VP Sara Duterte.
Kaugnay nito, inihirit ng prosekusyon ang paglalabas ng subpoenas at testificandum na nag-aatas kina Lopez at Matibag na humarap at tumestigo sa impeachment court sa Hulyo 13 hanggang 15 dakong alas-2:00 ng hapon.
Ayon sa prosekusyon ang testimoniya ng dalawang opisyal ay “material”, relevant at kailangan para ma-establish ang mga alegasyon sa ilalim ng Article IV ng Articles of Impeachment laban sa bise presidente.
Nakasentro ang artikulo sa umano’y grave threats at planong asasinasyon ng pangalawang pangulo laban kina Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr., First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos at dating House Speaker Martin Romualdez.
Matatandaang, si Lopez ay ipinag-utos na makulong matapos i-cite in contempt ng House of Representatives dahil sa umano’y undue interference o hindi nararapat na panghihimasok niya sa imbestigasyon ng panel sa confidential funds ng mga tanggapang hawak ni Duterte.
