The data breach in the system of the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) affected millions of people.
This was announced by Information and Communications Technology Secretary Ivan John Uy.
Uy said the number may decrease due to duplicate files found.
He said hackers can sell the leaked information to scammers and phishers because it failed to get the ransom money it demanded. Adding that investigators are still determining whether the hackers are Filipinos or foreigners.
To recall, the DICT first revealed that the Confucius group had a copy of more than 600 gigabytes of files on the website and Telegram channel two days after the deadline for the ransom amounting to $300,000 or approximately P17 million.
The leaked information such as photos, bank cards, and transaction receipts of the victims can be seen in the video.
