Inatasan ng Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID) ang National Task Force (NTF) at Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) na tiyaking ipapatupad ng mga local government units (LGUs) ang mahigpit na lockdown sa mga lugar na mataas ang COVID-19 cases o ang kanilang case doubling time.
Sinabi ni Presidential Spokesman Harry Roque, kakapaloob sa Zoning Containment Strategy ang mahigpit na pagpapatupad ng minimum public health protocols stadards, pinaigiting na tracing at quarantine ng mga close contacts at isolation sa mga confirmed case.
Una ng inihayag ni Cabinet Secretary Karlo Nograles, vice chairman ng IATF na ganitong estratehiya ang ipatutupad sa Metro Manila sakaling ibalik ito sa general community quarantine (GCQ).
“The National Task Force (NTF) and the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) are directed to ensure that areas flagged for local action shall implement strict lockdown of areas in line with the Zoning Containment Strategy, strict enforcement of minimum public health standards, and intensified tracing and quarantine of close contacts and isolation of confirmed cases,” ani Sec. Roque.
