The Western Conference Series is back to square one for the defending champion Denver Nuggets and the Minnesota Timberwolves.

The Nuggets got the momentum of a Game 3 victory by coming up with a torrid shooting performance (57% from the field and 44.8% from the three-point territory) to overcome the history making performance of 22-year-old Anthony Edwards.

Edwards has now surpassed Lebron James, Kevin Durant and Amar’e Stoudemaire for the most number of 40 points and above games in the play-offs for those below 23 years old with four games and trails Luka Doncic who has five.

His scintillating personal output, however, has come to naught as his team was not able to support him.

For this game he had 44 points but no one supported him, not even Karl Anthony Towns whom he has singled out as crucial offensively if they are to defeat Denver in the series to advance to the championships.

The Nuggets on the other hand got its usual top-notch performance from League MVP Nikola Jokic who made 35 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists while Aaron Gordon, silent for most of the series ably backed him up with 27 points (on a near perfect 11 of 12 shooting) 7 rebounds and 6 assists.

With their backs against the wall, the Denver Nuggets has shown they can perform in the most trying o conditions, snatching two games from Minnesota in their home court and preserving their advantage as the series now goes back to the Mile High City.
