The Department of Foreign Affairs has confirmed that two Filipinos have been killed in the ongoing war between the Palestinian Militant Hamas and Israel.
In a post online, DFA Secretary Enrique Manalo said that they strongly condemned the killing of two Filipinos and all acts of terrorism and violence as a result of Hamas’ actions in the country of Israel.
The official also said that the Philippines is ready to work with other countries to have a long-term solution to the misunderstanding between the two countries.
The agency earlier announced that six Filipinos were still reported missing in the country when the war began in the area.
According to the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration, two Filipinos are recovering after being injured due to the Hamas attack.
Meanwhile, Manalo promised that the Philippine government will continue to provide assistance to all affected Filipinos in Israel and Palestine.
Based on the data, up to 30,000 Filipino workers remain in Israel while 167 are in the Gaza Strip.
The DFA has also proposed to President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. to raise the Alert Level 3 in the Gaza Strip so that the Philippines can implement Voluntarily Evacuation in the area.
