Tiniyak ng pamunuan ng Philippine Council for Agriculture and Fisheries (FCAF) na kanilang ipagpapatuloy ang pagsulong sa transparency and accountability at palakasin ang check and balance system kasabay ng pagdiriwang ng kanilang ika-9th anniversary nuong June 26,2022.
Patuloy ang PCAF sa paghimok ng publiko na makiisa sa pag-unlad sa agriculture and fisheries sectors na naaayon sa principle ng good governance.
Ayon kay dating Department of Agriculture (DA) Secretary William Dar, ang PCAF kasama ang Agricultural and Fishery Councils sa national and regional levels ay malaki ang ambag sa pag rollout ng ibat ibang programs and initiatives ng Department of Agriculture.
Sinabi ng dating Agriculture chief na ang role ng PCAF sa accreditation and mobilization ng mga Civil Society Organizations na siyang partners ng ahensiya sa pagpapanatili ng effective and efficient implementation ng food security thrusts, pagtaas ng food sufficiency, dagdag na budget support, at ang mabilis na pag-adopt sa modern technology sa agriculture sector.
Ayon kay PCAF OIC Executive Director Liza Battad, bilang bahagi ng kanilang 9th anniversary celebration, pinangunahan ng PCAF ang unang National DA CSO Summit na layon makamit ang “Masaganang Ani at Mataas na Kita”.
Sinabi ni Battad, ang PCAF ang siyang nagpa-facilitate ng “broad-based participatory development mechanisms and processes” sa agriculture and fisheries sector, kabilang dito ang stakeholder consultations, dialogues, at participatory monitoring and tracking of agency accomplishments lalo na sa implementasyon ng agricultural and fishery programs and projects.
Pinuri naman ni Dar ang ahensiya sa kanilang accomplishments sa ilalim ng “OneDA Reform Agenda” kabilang dito ang koordinasyon sa mga private sector-partners sa agriculture and fishery sector na siyang magiging daan para magsagawa ng konsultasyon para i-develop ang Commodity Industry Roadmaps and the National Agriculture and Fisheries Modernization and Industrialization Plan 2021-2030.
Bilang bahagi ng NAF Council’s function ay ang kanilang rekomendasyon sa endorsement and approval ng P270.6-Billion Plan and Budget Proposal para sa Department Fiscal Year 2023 in May2022.
“Let us continue to manage reforms to inspire the manifestation of effects of policies and decide to institutionalize reforms to promote organizational development and employee welfare to sustain our unwavering commitment to serve Filipino farmers and fishers,” pahayag ni OIC ED Battad.
